Quintessential Seattle: Ivar’s.

This visit was to the Salmon House which is one of 3 locations on the water in the metro area. A visit to one of the locations is a must for any visitor to Seattle.

My visit this time was for a retirement party for 2 of our faculty so the fare was more typical of that type of event: heavy hors d’oeuvres. I didn’t know that was an option, so if you go for the more usual offerings then concentrate on the clam chowder and salmon which is what they are known for and what your visitors would most like to experience.

This is a nice location done in the style of a first nations longhouse but, for a better view…although the view here isn’t shabby, I’d take visitors to the Acres of Clams location on the waterfront downtown.
