Breakfast in the Gaslamp Quarter: Cafe 222.

It’s been a few years since my last visit to this small, unique place near the convention center.

They have the usual staples but with a twist….like blueberry cornbread waffles (featured in Gourmet Magazine) or scrambles served with spam…or orange pecan pancakes…..I think you get the picture. Their peanut butter and banana stuffed French toast was good enough to make a Bobby Flay episode. So, give them a try if you want a bit of a breakfast adventure for your palate.

The place can be busy so arrive early if you are in a hurry and don’t have time to wait for a table. Open for lunch as well.

Service was very good.
