Dined here about a year ago: Homer St Cafe and Bar

Housed in a Victorian styled building in a corner location the restaurant specializes in rotisserie chicken but has an extensive menu of all things meat….seafood, chicken, pork and beef. The space is really 2 separate dining areas……seems like 2 different restaurants because of 2 entrances and the different motifs. Having eaten in both I favor the upper area which has the bar and high ceilings.

This time we had lunch consisting of a very nice mixed greens salad with a delightful red wine mustard vinaigrette and heirloom cherry tomatoes.  For mains we shared a medium rare sirloin from the rotisserie with mashed potatoes and super small but very flavorful fried onions and a dish of lingcod, cornbread crusted prawns and chorizo on a bed of chickpeas and kale. Dessert was the peanut butter cookies with nutella cream. All delicious and much better than what I remembered of our prior experience here.

I have to call out the rose’ from provence……grenache, syrah and cinsault….light and full of citrus. I have to find a bottle of this!
