Brunch: NetShed No. 9.

We were visiting Gig Harbor…for the first time despite living here for almost 20 years! This place sounded interesting…..and the space and views can’t be beat. What’s a netshed? This town was originally a fishing village and it’s where the nets were stored. They dot the harbor and this one has been turned into a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch with brunch on weekends.

Since we were here for brunch, a mimosa sounded like a good place to start…the OJ had to have been fresh squeezed.

They are well known for their cinnamon rolls and since they come as single or as a skillet full, we had to have the skillet…..to take what we didn’t eat home for later. They were as advertised….excellent.

As our “mains” I had the stuffed biscuit…..stuffed with what you ask? A Portuguese sausage of course! That add, made the dish. It was on the spicy side and the biscuit a bit over baked but overall it was a good choice. Not sure I’m a fan of the Sunday gravy….may have something to do with my expectations of gravy. This wasn’t what I expected but the sunny side up egg and Beecher’s Flagship cheese settled it down a bit. I had no problem cleaning my plate. We also tried the Mission Burrito which was good…and huge!

Service was great and the views from the deck of the surrounding marina and Mount Rainier can’t be beat.

Next visit we plan to try their sister restaurant Brix 25.
