Newer spot: Cob + Cork.

You never know what the experience will be but this place looked interesting from the road so we decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint and I continue to be amazed by the quality of food you find in the most unlikely places. This place was no exception.

We first visited on a Sunday during brunch hours so choices ranged widely from the farmer’s breakfast to French toast to burgers to a porchetta roll. We went with the PNW steamer bowl and the crab mac + cheese. Both were excellent. Small but interesting wine and cocktail list with French wines by the glass on the specials list the day we visited. The 2013 Tautavel Rouge, a blend of grenache, syrah and carignan was excellent.

On a more recent visit we enjoyed another great lunch…the Sicilian prawn bowl was excellent but, the got to have dish is the caramel chocolate cake. It was made by the vanilla gelato…did I mention the beautiful richness of the cake?… and was crowned by the salt flakes in the caramel sauce…outstanding!

They are open Thursday through Sunday so stop by and give them a try on your next trip to the area. You won’t regret it.

Good service.
