Gotta experience: Dooky Chase’s.

Recent trip to New Orleans had us looking for a new experience. While it has been in existence for more than 80 years and is still family owned, we had never visited.

This place is all about Creole cuisine which is heavy on gulf seafood. Choices range from classic gumbo, crab soup, redfish, crawfish etouffee, oysters…the list goes on. But, this place is best known for its southern fried chicken. While we went with seafood the chicken looked perfectly fried. This is another place where everything on the menu is good.

Interesting space with art on the walls and Mardi Gras costumes on display. It’s been visited by presidents, civil right activist, supreme court justices and many other celebrities.

Very popular place so I recommend a reservation. Requires you call them but that proved no problem.
