First the space: built in 1732 so it’s a smaller place with tables on 2 floors and a bit rustic. Reservation type of place and a credit card required to book. Not in the “heart” of Paris…4th Arrondissement…but an easy walk or Metro ride depending on your location.

It was a duck night with foie gras…made by the crushed speculoos cookies and the fig and red onion chutney. Next up was the duck confit. Perfectly cooked…meat falling off the bone and the skin appropriately crispy. The menu covered all the meats…pork, beef, fish, rabbit and chicken. Vegetarian also available. Keep in mind that choices may vary since it’s farm to table type place.

Since I’ve never met a chocolate I didn’t like of course I had to give the molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce a go. It didn’t disappoint. Paired it with a nice 10 year old tawny port…perfect choice for my tastebuds.

Extensive wine list, as expected.

Service was excellent.
