Still wandering around Georgetown and needed a drink: Martin’s Tavern.

It’s been here since 1933 and has quite an extensive history…said to be the place where John Kennedy proposed to Jacqueline on June 24th 1954…booth 3 is the story.

Typical bar but with a restaurant which looks like it serves the gamut from seafood to steaks. Can’t comment on the food but the bar service was efficient and the choices extensive. If you aren’t into alcohol the bartender makes a mean lemonade.

The space is a bit dark….classic old style, wood paneled bar.
