A slice of the Caribbean: Bongos Cafe.

This place has been on my radar for some time and I finally got a chance to visit. Describing it as laid back is probably to refined, think beach side food truck in the Caribbean…even c0mes with the expected sand!

The menu is fairly simple with sandwiches and plates of pork, chicken or shrimp with a bit of beef thrown in for balance. But, what makes the offerings really shine are the spices…and the mango slaw.

The shrimp Po’ Boy and the West Indies plate were both hits. The Po’Boy came with numerous grilled shrimp all topped with mango slaw and served on a perfect baguette. Simply delicious. Be forewarned that the portion sizes are large so you’ll need to resist getting everything on the menu…at least on your first visit. Give this place a try…you won’t be disappointed.

Service is walk up and efficient.
