“BBQ” in Seattle: Brileys.

Hard to find great BBQ in this town but finally visited this place after it was suggested to me by a friend some months ago. It was a great suggestion and it has become our go to spot.

They have pulled pork so that’s appropriate as well as brisket, chicken, baby back and spare ribs. Sides are typical with a few that are less classic…..collards, mac and cheese, cornbread and a seasonal salad but the cole slaw is typical and the collards were spot on delicious. The baked beans were interesting….white beans with a mild sauce. Initially I wasn’t that impressed but after a few bites I got over the difference from the usual offering and found them to be very good…..the added pork helped. We didn’t try the corn bread so no comments about sweet vs. unsweet can be made.

The pulled pork sandwich arrived on a brioche bun….very nice and was piled high with perfect pork….no fat to be found. They offer 3 tomato based sauces and a mixture of sweet and mildly spicy did the trick for me. One think you gotta try is the Brisket Chili. Not really like chili…sweeter and with flavors that were out of this world.

We were also intrigued by the homemade banana pudding. It was very good but not like mama makes…..the vanilla wafers were not incorporated into the pudding and there was no meringue atop the pudding. However, all said, it was very good.

Service was excellent.
