Typical Icelandic: Café Loki.

Very nice spot for dinner across the street from the Hallgrímskirkja. Think fish in various forms…some common and some not, with a bit of lamb thrown in. I had to try the plokkfiskur (mashed fish) but we also had the steamed cod and lamb shank.

A more bit about the mashed fish. It arrived with a side salad and rye bread. I think it is best described as a fish based casserole. It was excellent.

Of course we washed it all down with Viking beer!

Finished with rye bread ice cream which is their specialty. It’s best described as a vanilla based type ice cream with rye bread mixed in. Sounds odd but it’s well worth a try.

Service was outstanding…above and beyond expectations.
