Vegan ice cream: Frankie & Jo’s.
One of two locations, this one is on lower Capitol Hill. The shop is small and lines form at times so you may have to wait a bit but it’s worth the wait.
Their ice cream is made from “milk” produced from sprouting cashews and combining that with coconut milk. You can’t tell it isn’t milk….it’s very creamy. I had the salted caramel ash….makes for an odd color but the real hit was the frozen rhubarb yuzu (a Japanese citrus) yogurt……delicious! Their waffle cones are gluten free and a great choice if you want a cone rather than a bowl.
