French with a Japanese twist: Fresh Flours Bakery & Cafe.

One of four locations of this bakery with the original in West Seattle. This location is in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood. Expect the usual: croissants, fruit gallets, kouign amann, scones and muffins. But, with the bakers’ Japanese heritage also expect to find green tea muffins and azuki red bean croissants. Savory choices and cookies are also available.

Our selections included a seasonal twice baked pumpkin croissant along with a pecan currant croissant. As a comparison with other bakeries, we also tried the kouign amann. All were excellent with a nod to the pumpkin croissant. They have coffee and espresso to wash it all down.

There are a few tables outside where you can also enjoy your choices.
