Mexican on Granville Island: Alimentaria Mexicana.

Not sure how large the Mexican food scene is in Vancouver but despite this being in one of the major tourist spots the food was varied and very good.

Multiple options on the menu so we started with the salsa tasting just to get things going. Very interesting with wide ranging flavors…savory to spicy and made all the better with the included tostadas. Before I go farther, you have to have a cocktail to go with the salsas and I’d recommend the Mezcalita. Very tasty. Of course they also have margaritas.

Now off to additional choices which ranged from guacamole to carne asada to the halloumi and grilled cactus to the endive salad. They were all very good but if you want something a bit different give the halloumi and grilled cactus a try.

Service was friendly and helpful with menu choices.

This is a nice add to the old space once occupied by Edible Granville which is no longer. They also offer a small mercado where you can purchase chocolates, spices, cookbooks and other small items from Mexico.
