Seafood in a city of seafood: Fiskmarkadurinn (The Fish Market).

The facade doesn’t hint at the modern dining spaces within. Came highly recommended and the food did not disappoint.  The food is best described as Icelandic Asian fusion which leans Asian so expect some interesting spins on the typical Icelandic seafood restaurant.

Favorites of the experience were the Fish Market soup…incredible, the King Prawn Tempura and the Arctic Char which was grilled to perfection.

Wines are old world and the cocktails, plentiful.

The overall experience was unfortunately impacted by our waitstaff. Multiple issues with our order and the final coup de grâce was the bill. Mixed us up with another table and presented a receipt that was substantially higher than the actual bill. Once I discovered the mistake, the manager quickly addressed it. I would not let this dissuade you from a visit…the food was outstanding.

A reservation is highly recommended.
