Looking for Thai and a new experience: Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen

Have heard great things about this place so we decided to visit on a cold rainy Junuary Seattle day. The space is small and intimate with a bit of a wait and on a nice night it can be very busy. Like many restaurants you can give them your cell and they will text you when your table is ready. The location affords a nice stroll along the Kirkland waterfront as you wait for your table. There are also online options to add your name to the wait list before you arrive. Another option is a second, newer outlet, in Lynwood if you live farther north of the city.

Started with an old standard….the lettuce wraps which were typical with a bit of a twist….a lime dressing and a steamed rice paper like addition to hold it all in place. Very good example of the dish. Next up was the grilled squid which are best enjoyed in small bites…much easier to eat but a bit overcooked!

Then we were on to the Thai green papaya salad which was classically done and very good as well with an lovely fish sauce with dried shrimp as an add. Last up was the Chu Chi red curry with shrimp which was a perfect finish to the meal.

Pictured is the Thaicoon cocktail which is worth a try if you like your drinks a bit on the sweet side with a sour twist…the lychee was also a nice add.

Service was excellent.
