Southern BBQ in Bozeman: Smoke, Fire & Coal.
Relatively new place on the main drag in downtown. I was intrigued by the thought of Southern BBQ even though they serve brisket. My urge to visit was because that also serve pulled pork and, things go better with pork!
The space is great…bar, seating around the bar and a dual sided fireplace to warm you on a cold day. Perfect, even though on this visit, our order was to go.
Where to start…I think with the service. Very friendly and helpful and from North Carolina so I knew this place had potential.
Choices: pulled pork…of course, with sides of fried okra and fries and someone had to have a hamburger…go figure. The hit, candy bacon…smoked in house pork belly with a local honey glaze. What can I say other than you gotta try it! Don’t want all that fat…just pull it off and savor the sweetness and pork…delicious!
The BBQ sauce? Not quite what I was looking for but I’m very picky about the sauce…sweet and tomato based for me. Here’s my favorite.
