It’s all about the bread: Tartine Manufactory.
A well known bakery in SFO with several locations, we visited the original in the Mission District which also has an associated restaurant in addition to the bakery.
How to describe the food? New American…I guess, with lots of opportunities to taste their bread….think smørreedrød and tartines.
This visit we went with the black cod, which arrived on a bed of red dragon cabbage with shishito peppers and smoked tomatillo and the tagliatelle. The later was made more special by the chanterelle sugo which added a nice richness to the dish.
Have the salted caramel ice cream….trust me.
