Great option: Heritage.

While Purple Cafe has been our go to for many years while in Woodinville, we are always looking for other options in a city that is covered up with your typical fast food sources. This relative new spot proved a welcome addition.

It’s quite popular and reservations at the last minute proved difficult unless you wanted a table outside…our only choice the night we visited. Our experience was helped by a lack of horizontal rain and outdoor heaters.

How best to describe the cuisine? How about PNW?…plenty of seafood as well as those that inhabit land. Started with sharing the pear frisée salad…delicious and the dark balsamic fig vinaigrette made the dish. Then off to steamed clams as well as the trout choice. The clams stood out…the tomato based broth with house made chorizo sausage was a must have! No wine with dinner…cocktails instead…but the wine offerings revealed PNW choices with a couple of old world wines thrown in for good measure.

Ended with the key lime pie in a jar downed by a nice glass of botrytis Semillon from Australia. A nice wine but not quite up to the task of pairing with the sweeter dessert. Should have gone with the Pedro Ximénez sherry.

Service was good.
